MARCH

22 Filming of the pilot for MTV's Ultimate Parkour Challenge

Spent two weeks in LA, first week spent filming for the pilot. The set was amazing, really realistic in terms of what we would normally train on. It was a great privilege to train and work alongside some of the most recognised traceurs. The pilot's being aired in the US soon, but still awaiting dates for the UK. Second week I stayed at Travis Wong's house and spent most of the time training with The Lost Boys, absolutely amazing guys and by the end of the week felt like family rather than fellow traceurs. Can't wait to go back and see them all again!

12 Just joined forces with the World Freerunning & Parkour Federation

Became a founding member of WFPF along with friends Daniel Ilabaca, Ryan Doyle, Oleg Vorslav, Tim Shief, Victor Lopez, Gabriel Nunez and King David to name a few. I have joined because I think it is a massive stepping stone into the USA and we can spread the word about what parkour/freerunning is all about

4 My 18th birthday jam!

Was well excited to finally be 18, and celebrate my birthday with loads of my freerunning mates. Was insane, did some sick moves. Here’s the vid, take a look!

FEBRUARY

2 Walkers adverts shown on TV

Here’s the link and footage of the Walkers job. Hope you enjoy having a laugh at me dressed as fish, chip, squirrel and chilli, the costumes were pretty impressive.

JANUARY

31 Completed British Parkour Coaching Association’s Training Course

Went up to London to the BPCA’s Headquarters for the first stage of assessment in becoming a qualified Parkour coach. The day involved going through the BPCA’s coaching standards document so that I had the relevant knowledge to progress in becoming a Parkour coach.

23 Daniel Ilabaca’s surprise 21st birthday jam!

Was invited along by Nathan Ilabaca. First time of driving any real distance alone (227 Miles!!!). Scared the life out of Danny, he completely didn’t expect it but was pleased to see us all even though we attacked him with silly string. Spent two days up there, had an awesome time and did some filming for his birthday jam video.

20 Joined MOT, 2MA and Casting Suite

After joining some new agencies, I was asked along to several castings. One of which involved high-diving off a 10 metre board, then later progressing to flips! First jump was probably one of the scariest things I’ve done in a long time. But incredible experience and met some cool guys.

17 First of weekly coaching sessions at Chilton Leisure Centre

First week was promising, all the kids were well behaved. Looked like there was some real potential.

10 Demo for Knightstone Housing Family Fun Day

Asked along with Escape Parkour, by Knightstone housing, to put on a short demo. Really enjoyed collaborating with Elements dance group, we decided for the performance to do a street dance vs tricking face-off. Which we won ☺

10 Chilton Leisure Centre launch evening

Went with Escape Parkour to do a short demo to launch the new parkour coaching which is taking place every Saturday evening. Had a great time, got lots of kids joining in. Cool seeing young guys taking an interest in Parkour.

DECEMBER

30 New Year’s Eve Eve Jam

Was a great jam. Met up with a couple of my best friends - Daniel Ilabaca and Philip Doyle and many, many more. We all had a great time in the cold training it up on Southbank.

18 Completed First Aid at Work qualification

Thanks to The Youth Bank funding, my fiance and I had a fun four days learning first aid. Quite possibly the longest I’ve ever managed to concentrate on one thing other than parkour.

13 Parkour Generations/UF jam

Went up to London with Kie knowing that bad weather was in store. Arrived before everybody else and spent the next 2 hours hiding from the rain under the Imax bridge. Despite the weather me and a couple of the guys had an awesome scaffolding sesh. Great to see everyone.

12 Awarded Somerset Youth Bank funding for training to coach Parkour

NOVEMBER

18, 19, 21, 26 & 28 AMV/Walkers Crisps. ‘What’s my flavour’ television commercials

Asked back to shoot another commercial for Walkers Crisps. Great fun working with well-known celebrity Gary Lineker and director Paul Weiland. Opportunity to experience stuntwork as all shoots involved stunts in restrictive costumes. More details and photos to follow after public release in early 2009.

13 YMCA. Demo and coaching session to senior Youth Group

Asked along with Escape Parkour to talk about the origins of Parkour and introduce basics to a group of 13-16 year olds. Kids were enthusiastic and leaders hoping we can set up up regular sessions.

1 Fuse Performance. Aller Fireworks show

Worked with Escape Parkour again to do a performance for the annual Aller Fire Show. Theme this year was Gotham City with us all dressed in black. Lazers, pyrotechnics etc but rain meant safety had be one of our main considerations.

SEPTEMBER

24 Fuse Performance/Somerset College of Arts & Technology. Freshers festival demo

Fuse Performance asked me with Escape Parkour to do some demos for the Freshers Festival. Used the college buildings inc 40ft staircase which was cool. Also met up with Elements, a local streetdance team - appreciated each others’ skills.

22 Sky Sports 2&3. Worldwide coverage of World Freerun Championships

Really pleased at how heavily featured I was in the highlights on Sky TV. Not sure Parkour ‘saved me from a life of crime’ but it sure has given me a focus and ambition to keep on improving and treat every obstacle in life as a challenge to be solved.

15 Urban Freeflow.

I have left UF to pursue personal projects and my solo career. I’ll still be working with Escape Parkour who are sponsored by Debenhams and Energise. Looking for more sponsors and clients - so get in touch if you are looking for international exposure! Contact me to make a booking for workshops, demonstrations and displays, promotional advertising and commercials, internet, TV and film work including modelling, acting and stunts.

3 Barclaycard/UF. World Freerun Championships

An amazing experience – I got to meet loads of freerunners from all around the world. The standard was high and it was good to learn from really skilled guys. The stage was great and had a lot of opportunity for movement. I was happy with my first round but when I picked up an ankle injury in the semi-final it seriously affected my performance, although I still got through to the final five. I tried to keep going in the final but I was in too much pain by about the 3rd move to finish well. I really appreciated the crowd and the guys’ support all the way through. It gave me the motivation to train hard, be more creative and most importantly, have fun. I’m taking a short rest now and will be back to training soon. To see Pip in action on the night.

11-16 Soul Survivor. Parkour demos & workshops at Christian conference

Just got back from Soul Survivor. No four star hotels here! Camped in the mud & rain for a week with Daniel Ilabaca (and family), Jin, Rob, Kie, Phil, Neil etc. Set up a pilot Parkour ‘park’ in one of the Bath & West Showground buildings for one of the conference weeks. Delegates (it’s a Christian camp mainly for teenagers) could come and watch demos, try PK moves and flips in a safe environment ... with coaching tips! All very well received so we’ll probably do it full on next year for both weeks of the conference.

9 Sony Ericsson/UF. ‘Off the Wall’ tour. Live parkour displays

It chucked it down at the ‘Off the Wall’ tour for Sony Ericsson in Covent Garden but got to do some stuff and had fun with the joke shop there - stupidly good demonstrator...

2 AMV/Walkers Crisps. ‘What’s my flavour’ television commercial

Just hitting your TV screen and internet is a new commercial for Walkers Crisps shot on July 2nd.
